The car starts erraticly. When ever it doesn't start it has no spark. One day I was testing for spark, the car was cranking with no spark, suddenly got spark and started. From there on it starts when it wants to. The car cranks fine, so the starter is good. I checked for spark and none of the wires are sparking. I checked power to the coil pack and igniter and there is power. I changed the coil pack and igniter and still no start. There is plenty of fuel pressure, and fuel. I give up. I need help, any suggestions? Has new denso iridium plugs and new MSD Wires.

When you are cranking, does your tachometer move at all? If not, then your CAS may be bad (Cam Angle sensor) or there is an issue with wiring for it. You may be able to just tap the CAS (on the metal) with a hammer and get the car to start up without issue. I'd advise you on how to clean one of those up to get it working again, but I don't know how. Just buy another one from somewhere.
I use to have the same Problem. Do this and see if it works, When you go outside and turn you key and it doesnt start, Open the Hood and move the CPS wire and then try it again. Somewhere in my harness, I have a Bad connection, When it doesnt want to start, I move the wire a little and it first right up.

Thank you all for your advice, Arpus my tachometer does not move like you stated. I never thought about the CAS, I will try to move it, and tap on it with a hammer. I do have a spare laying around from a running motor, I can try to install when I have the time. I will see if the CAS makes the differents. Thanks again everyone.
I Just went out and advanced the timing and it fired right up on the first try without much cranking. I don't know if this was one of those times it randomly fires or if it was just that my the timing was too retard. If it was the angle position does that mean the sensor is good and was just set incorrectly, and if so, how do I know where the timing needs to be set. Right now the bottom of the washer is 1/4 inch from the most advanced setting. Thats is the best I can describe how it is set.
my guess is the wiring might be broken/breaking. when you moved it that might have fixed the connection.

That is exactly what is happening, it's a fairly common problem, I was able to take care of my erratic no-spark symptoms by hard-wiring it into the engine harness...I found out later that my problem wasn't the CPS itself, but the CPS connector had a bent/dirty pin(s)...so hard-wiring it may solve your problem.
just had this problem myself. The CPS wires are hard, the connector is old. At first, it would only fail to fire at first startup. I would have to jiggle the connector and the wires in a non specific way 1,2,3 times and it would start. A few weeks go by and then the car will stop running in traffic ( a few times). A friend took a good look at it and it looked like one of the wires was not fully seated into the connector. Sooooooooooo, I carefully pushed each of the wires into the connector on each side. Since then, the car has not had the problem over the 4 weeks since.
Now this is not the long term fix. But all of us should be aware of the problem.

The CPS wire issue is a known problem...
Wiggle the connectors now to make it run today, rewire as much as you can of it's wires for a long term solution.
