Hey guys i know this might be a dumb question but does anybody know if the throttle body of a 1uzfe v8 will fit on the stock 7mgte manifold i've searched and found nothing on this idea.Cause if it dose fit it would be a good upgrade in place of the stock tb since its larger inner diameter and there are some of us that can't afford an ffim with a q45 tb and the q45 tb is way to big for the stock manifold as we all know.

What other mods do you have? IMO, a bigger throttle body won't help you if you've still got all the other bottle necks in the system.

My mods include drift motion fmic all 2.5inch hard pipes, t3 t70 turbo, 40mm external wastegate set at 12psi, 3inch vband down pipe all the way back no cat no muffler, clutch fan delete, auto to r154 swap, also engine is 7mgte block with 7mge pistons.Im sure im missing some stuff but thats the most of it.

Come on guys 55 views and only one reply someone has to know if this will work or not.Someone on here must have a 1uz tb to measure the bolt pattern spacing so i can compare it to 7mgte tb anyone? or do i need to try the lexus forms lol.

Even if the tb was bigger and bolted up you would still have to port manifold or it wouldn't help much.

Doubt it's the size as usually with bigger tb the bolt pattern is different.

And being a boosted engine might not make much of a difference with the stock manifold.

Unless you are going to a FFIM stay with the stock throttle body. The throttle body flange that is on the upper intake manifold is less than 2.5", so it wouldn't make any sense to upgrade the throttle body with the stock manifold.

I understand that the stock throttle body flange would have to be ported to match the 1uz tb since the stock tb is 60mm and the 1uz is 70mm i beleave. Anyways thats a quick fix with a dremel and if you think i wouldn't be a performance upgrade then explain why toyota used a 60mm tb on the 7mgte and a 65mm tb on the 7mgteu in the turbo A supra's must have been some advantage to the bigger tb and it was still on the stock manifold.

The 7m tps is direct bolt on the 1uz tb from what i have gathered throttle plate even opens in the same direction .I guess im just gonna end up bying a 1uz tb gasket to compare it to the 7mgte tb since no one knows if it will bolt on. i did however find a post somewhere about some 6m guys using the 1uz tb on the stock manifold but it didn't go into much detail at all :-(

And on another note why not put a bigger tb on the stock manifold since most people say the stock 7mgte manifold design out flows most ffim as stated in this thread www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?155789-This-Is-Why-A-JZ-Manifold-Cannot-Be-Used-On-A-7M so putting a bigger tb on the stock manifold would only make that statement even more true that it out flows most ffim's cause the tb is centered in the manifold and the flow is distributed evenly across the cylinders.

Where in there does it say that a stock manifold outflows a ffim?

That's the 1j manifold on a 7m. The ports do not line up and yes it will get out flowed by a 7m manifold.

Stock manifold flows plenty good. By switching to a bigger tb your not going to gain 50 hp. For all means go ahead and do what you want no one is stopping you.

It states it right in that thread that an ffim is mostly an upgrade for better engine looks and easier intercooler piping roughing. heres two quotes from that posting from two different ppl. "I agree, the FFIM is bling and easy on intercooler piping routing. If you look at the direction of air flow on the stock set up it is far more superior as it can evenly flow into the cylinder chambers from the top unlike the the FFIM where it goes in through the front and has to travel alll the way to rear". " FFIM on a 7m is purely a bling factor anyway. There was a guy running mid 9's with a stock 7m upper and lower intake manifold. We all know who he is. You can make power, and go fast with the factory manifold". Those are not my own words and im all for going ffim trust me but there are some who can't afford a $1000+ for an ffim and new intercooler and piping or don't wanna go through the trouble it was just an idea and one that seemed very reasonable to have a larger tb on the stock manifold im sure some would agree.

Its different, been there, ditched my stock manifold and went custom FFIM with a lexus TB, Bolt patterns are different for the TB flanges, the TPSs are physically different but work the same, i used the v8 TPS and a few checks with a voltmeter and changed the wiring to suit

Thanks for clarifying blackmk3 your the first to actually answer the question at hand without getting off topic.Which was if the bolt patterns where the same now we all know there not the same.
