7mgte swap from 7mge HELP

hey guys I have a 89 supra n/a and i have a parts car which is a 87 supra turbo. I want to swap the turbo'ed engine into my car but i came across some threads that got me a little confused. it said something about the tach's being different and they wont read properly? any advice? lol some people have told me that i could unplug the harness from the ecu and pull it through the firewall so when i change the ecu in the car to the gte ecu i could just plug it back in. i donno... any advice would be great,

I'm wondering the same thing. We got a 7mge for the wife last summer, and are now getting around to working on it. She wants to drop a GTE in there but we are unsure what all is needed in the engine bay. If anyone has done this swap please get in touch with me as we are wanting to do this swap very soon. I told her to just scrap the car and start with a good GTE car to begin with, but she made a very valid point. The body we have is 99% rust free..... so we want to keep this shell and drop a GTE in there.
