Hey guys

Managed to get my hands on a mines ecu for a 7mgte :D

However my car is a 1989 with gray plug ecu, and the ecu is a yellow plug with the external plug that comes out of it so 86-89.
From a quick Google search some say that the mines ecu will work on both looms of both years of supras 86-89 89-92

I'm not with the car to check atm but does anybody know about these ecus?

I do have the pre 89 loom that fits the mines ecu, is it possible to swap the harness if need be to run the ecu, or will that cause hassles with other parts of the electrial system

Thanks Nick

Its not compatable with the later year harness.

You could swap harness but i dont see the point. better off to sell that one and go standalone or if you really want a mines ecu find a gray plug one.

Yeah from what I understand the mines ecus have no speed cut as the jdm cars cut at 180 kph I'm unsure if usdm do this?
They also have a increased 500rpm rev cut so being 86-89 should be close to 7k? They also have no fuel cut and are tuned more aggressively in the fuel ignition maps. Running things leaner (compared to the 10 : 1 stock ecu WOT ratios) so you can push more boost in before maxing the injectors.

This is from what I was told by a tuner that has worked with many in skylines. And mines does similar things for all ecus in all cars

I remember I had a private talk with 3p141592654 who told me they remove fuel cut completely, which seems pretty dangerous to him(and to me).
They also move the rev limit and adjusted 1 point in the fuel map (just one point!). He has no idea why.

I've only looked at the Techtom ECU, and the mods to it were like Reynald noted, just pretty minor changes. If anyone wants to loan me a Mines ECU I can download the software and tell you what they changed.

I agree with no fuel cut its walking a dangerous line. As its pretty easy to max the injectors in these cars. I guess customers that went to the extent of replacing the ecu had other modifications and systems to monitor the engine
