I am doing a motor swap, putting a 7mgte into a 1984 Toyota Pickup. I just got the motor running but when I start it, it will rev to around 3 or 4 grand then settle down and sort of surge, barely keeping from dying. My first thought was a vaccum problem but aftering searching for a few hours I still couldn't get it to idle correctly. Any suggestions?

mine is having the same problem but it only revs at 1500 rpm and then surges. and i swap mine into another supra. for mine im thinking its ether vacuum lines, throttle position sensor, or bad accordion. got go through and figure it out.
Well it turns out that the previous owner of my 7m replaced the intake gasket and did not fully remove the old gasket, so there was a portion of overlapping gasket. So now it idles and runs fine but I am having charging system issues. I don't have the plug for the alternator so I am having to connect the three wires with just female spade connectors. Can anyone help me out with how these wires hook up? A picture would be great. Thanks
