Ok so i pretty much finish my 7mgte swap into my x8, the swap is a USDM 1992 Supra AT 7mgte and wiring (all of it) i basically have a supra that looks like a cressida, So basically just think about it as a 92 supra turbo. So with that in mind here is my problem:
When the car starts it will run for 5-6 seconds some times less and then stall out. So i thought maybe that it had to do with my fuel pump so i jumpered it to my battery as my friend cranked the car, and it idled fine with out stalling, also if you keep the RPMs high with out the fuel pump jumpered(hard wired) it sometimes runs (but roough).
So back to figuring out what was wrong, we tested so far:
1. Hard wired FP (Fuel Pump)
3. sorta runs if you throttle it (with the FP hooked up normally)
2. Continuity and 12v powered test (as the FSM suggests) of the FPR (FP Relay)
3. " " Of the Circuit Opening Relay
4. " " of the EFI main relay (in the fuse box)
^ all that checked out ok but....
...I decided to check the FPR's voltage from the circuit openeing relay (the voltage across the Yellow wire and the Blue-Black wire on the FPR) to make sure that the FPR was actually coming on and getting the correct voltage here is what happened:
Engine cranks and starts up easily runs for maybe 1-2 seconds, then the FPR turns on (the delay weirds me out) and stays for 2 seconds, the the FPR shuts off, and then 2 seconds later the car stalls
i dunno whats going on, and at this point my brain is mush...its 2am, it could be some thing dumb ass hell (but i doubt it)
if you guys have any suggestions on what to check lemme know, im going to check my timing tomorrow (both jumpered (advanced) and normal), with the FP hardwired. but other than that...maybe its something ghey i dunno about.
please help me out if u can THX!! :1zhelp: --kyle,
also if u are in the northern virgina area and wanna swing by and check it out with me that would be sweet. heh.
