So I have a 7mge that wouldn't idle at all, it was throwing code 51, narrowing the issue down to the air conditioner or tps.

I replaced the tps because mine was bad, now the car will idle, but will only hold steady if I adjust the throttle to about 1500rpms or more for the idle, If I adjust it down it will start to sputter/bog out and stall.

Anything i should be looking for?

Other known issues with the motor is I have a pretty nasty oil leak that I'm trying to track down
needs a coolant temp sensor(the elect. plug on mine is broke)
same with the oil pressure sensor

When I started the car with the new tps on, If the turn the tps (clockwise) the motor will start to stall, so atm I have the tps at the full (ccw) position.

Before the TPS we had the throttle adjusted very high in attempt to keep the car running until we figured out the issue. Now that the tps is fixed, whenever we start to bring the throttle back down once it gets to 1500 or so itll start to stall.

I see, so this may be what's causing my problems? I'll have to set tomorrow, it's raining outside now :(

I just noticed the 2 vacuum lines that hook into the bvsv are unhooked, so I'll have to do a once over on all the vacuum lines and get everything put right.

Hopefully afterwards it'll work!

I've come to the conclusion that I need to calibrate the TPS, though haven't gotten around to it yet.. I had to pull the timing cover off to fix a leak, weather permitting after I get it back together we'll see the results!

Will report back!

Setting your ignition timing can cause a high idle as well. When I first started my engine before I fully set the ignition timing it idled around 1700 till I set it to 10 degrees, the closer to 10 it got, the lower it idled.
