Okay, I am ready to drop this engine in my Cressida, but while cleaningout all metal piping and stuff, I found out that the crankcase ventilation pipes and the the end that goes to the throttle body is 100% blocked with sludge.

I have soaked it in some fluid to see if I can poke all of it out tomorrow before dropping the engine.
Will also clean the throttle body side as well.

What kind of problems can these blockages lead to? Anything significant?

This is the metal pipe that connects the vents in the two valve covers and then plugs into the throttle body side.

you want those cleaned out.. or you will get blowby which is not good. it needs to vent. just spray a few cans of carb cleaner in there.

Not true you will get a little blow by regarless! Positive crank lets out any escaped compression after the compression stroke which is ventilated through those ports during boost, or regular diving under vacuum. If blocked the compression blow by would be trapped inside the crank case causeing seals to blow if you are not careful.
