Yes, it's all about the gear height, not teeth count or anything like that on the 7M pumps.
NA is shorter.
Has less flow per the same engine rpm.
Actually looked at making a custom pump, using two sets of gears. the shaft should hold up to turning them. Only problem is you have to pin the new drive gear to the old, and the new idler gear would be supported by the custom top cap. (We thought about making a spacer that would add the extra space to hold the extra set of gears. Problem is you either replace the idler gear shaft with a new longer one (best option, and add a relief in the top cap to help stablize it.) or you attach another idler gear shaft to the top cap.
In the end, decided not to do this for a few reasons.
1) The oil pump drive shaft coming off the cam belt is pretty thin when your running a stroker with pauter rods. (Had to turn it down to clear the rods.)
2) The bronze drive gear is a unknown when turning two sets of pump gears.
We were not sure it would hold up, and I did not want to have either fail and lose a motor due to some R&D project when I was pretty sure a good new 7MGTE pump would work fine.
