Alot depends on what trans your running.
Even 264s are too much for an auto with stock converter.
The 60' times will be slower than stock cams.
Maybe 256s, if you can find a set.

But if you have a manual, or want to lay out $600 for a hi stall converter,
then only your check book is the limit.......
Bigger cams work better at higher rpm, which means other parts to go along with it,
and ECU mods to allow higher RPM.
Also, on a NA, as you go up in cam duration, higher compression is required,
or it will really loose bottom end.

I think CP does something in the 11:1 range, LIPP has Wisecos in the 10.5 range.
And if you can find them, Cosworth used to make 12.5:1 pistons.
Or go to one of the .8mm head gaskets.

Bottom line, big cams will end up costing more than a mild turbo build :aigo:

So if you do go with cams, do mild ones, as there is less required to get a balanced build.

Best mods you could do to an n/a. Keep it healthy. There are many vendors that sell cold air intakes for the GE engine, I can't advertise. But remember it's a 22 year old engine. If you're looking for power without the turbo, don't expect much. I would suggest a teardown and PROPER rebuild before any mods are done. Trust me.

The engine has only 60k on it and has been rebuilt as well. I'm basically just looking for a cold air intake or whatever intake is recommended. Also which muffler is the best to get when i do the exhaust. Other than that i don't really need to get cams it was just an idea. I was also thinking about maybe getting the intake manifold ported. Also would you be able to pm me what vendors sell intakes for the 7mge since you don't wanna advertise?

So what I'm thinking to start with for the intake is to just replace the accordion section with an aluminum intake pipe (from the 7mge technical faq). Also maybe replace the stock airbox with some sort of cone filter (if that will actually benefit me?) Then catback or maybe even full exhaust. Possibly ported exhaust manifold? And Ported intake manifold.

Basically I'm not really going to be racing this car and i just want some tasteful mods that will make it a little faster for now. later on a will probably be boosting it when i am more financially stable. so basically all my ideas for now are:

-intake
-exhaust (along with ported exhaust manifold, or maybe header)
-ported intake manifold

Let me know what your think please I would love any feedback.

Intake and exhaust.I think that's about all you can do to a N/A before you go throwing out alot of cash for minimal hp gains.
Apexi makes a good air filter.I have heard nothing but bad about the K&N FIPK,the oil will eventually coat the afm sensor and give a false reading therby screwing everything else up down the line.
A nice exhaust system bigger than stock will help it breath alot easier. As far as diameter still is debated. Some say 2.5,and others say 2.75. Some even 3 which is pretty much used on turbo's.

yeah I'm thinking that I'll keep it simple for now. Just intake, exhaust, and ported intake manifold. Later on I'll most likely be boosting it (when i have the money)

Well don't throw money at cams for a NA build if you want to go turbo down the line.
you can probably buy a whole turbo kit for what cams will cost......

I built a NA, just because I am into self inflicted pain :naughty:
What do they say, people climb a mountain, just because it's there.....
But I am also building a turbo engine, because I really do want power.

If you plan to boost later just purchase mods that will work with the swap. High flow cat/test pipe, cat-back exhaust, suspension, brakes, nice radiator, ect.

On my N/A I used a civic intake pipe to replace the cracked oem intake hose and a sensor adapter to fit an aem dryflow cone filter.
