Hello all,

I recently started to have issues with cold start idle. The weather recently increased here from about 55 on average to 70, and it started about that time. A couple days ago my car ran like crap after filling up, so I thought it was bad gas. I put some fresh fuel in, and the problem seemed slightly better, but starting it the next morning proved that wasn't the problem. The car will start fine, but immediately begin to run rough, sounding like it is missing once in a while. If I don't let it warm up for a few minutes, it will cough and sputter horribly until about the 3k rpm range. Once the car is warm, it will miss every 10-20 seconds at about 800rpm or so, making a putt, putt, sound accompanied by a slight rocking of the car. Did a CEL check, and got codes 24 and 43. 24 is the temperature sensor, which I read is built into the AFM. The car dies without the AFM plugged in, but I hear that is what happens on the 7mge. At the moment I don't have an Ohm-meter in my possession, but my buddy has a Fluke so I'll test the AFM tomorrow... My question for now is, can the temp sensor failing also cause this code 43 (no start signal at 800rpm while stationary)? What exactly does this code 43 mean? I don't have hesitation to start, but 800rpm does seem to be where the car starts to have issues. The car is generally fine under power. The starter was replaced about 6 months ago, the plug wires are relatively new, and so is the distributor. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
