i just finished my 7m swap into my 4runner. i got the whole motor rebuilt everything new. took out all that egr stuff, well it didnt come w/ it anyways so its blocked off. i have noticed that it only tops out at 95km/h. i was coming home from a wheeling trip and thats how fast im going. everything is stock, no power upgrades or anything. the timing is set at 5 degrees. does anyone know what i can do to improve it ? like, bring it back to 0degrees ? just something. i know the 7m has more balls than that.

That would be 59.03 mph. I'm pretty sure it will go a lot higher than that. Sounds like something isn't right.
Er timing at 5' BTDC? Thats wrong - shouldnt be any less than 8' and should be at least 10' or more!

You can hear RPMS...jugde based on that...is it HIGH RPMS at 59 whopping MPH? If so i would definately consider timing as it will completely cut power but still rev and get you up to at least some speed

Well, you can't have it in 4W low, because you'd never make it that fast. Where did you plug in the speedo? In the tranny that came with the truck, or are you using one from a Supra? Are you checking speed against your speedo, or with a buddy in another car with a known correct speedo? Do you have extra big tires?
