can some one please tell me the difference between a 7m motor to a 7mgte. i know the turbo dif, but is the block and piston the same. reason y i am asking is that i have a 27k non turbo motor and a 7mgte motor that is bad so i wanted to take the 7m and make it turbo.

GTE/GE Differences that stand out to me:
Electronics
Compression Ratio (the pistons are different)
Oil Squirters (the GTE has them, the GE doesn't)

IIRC the GTE has more knock sensors too, but I forget if that's exactly it.

Anyways, topic creator, there's some info around here about it, so try searching if my answer isn't good enough. But I recommend you just swap a motor instead of doing NA-T, cause nowadays it doesn't seem like anyone can do an NA-T correctly (no one has ever made it last long except my bro)

woah woah... don't forget about my na-t lol.

my vote is na-t if that 27k GE is really a 27k GE. but u'll need the turbo electronics to swap over to have it run right. and also i would ditch the afm and get a maft

couple questions: When you do this do you use the gte ecu as well as the harness?

How do you get around the knock sensors because the gte has 2, one in back and one in front... so what do you do to not get a code?

How would you set up the turbo intake pipe with the 4 vacuum hoses (1=bov)

There are a couple ways to do it, and the best (IMO) is with full GTE electronics as the GE computer has some pretty serious timing, limiting what kinds of boost you can run safely. Not sure here, but if you're talking about the accordion hose, one of the big ports on top is for the stock bypass valve recirculation, one is for the PCV system and one is for the ISC. Dunno what the little nipple on the bottom is for, I'm not currently using it for anything but my car is fairly modified and I've no clue what is actually supposed to go there, so someone else will have to chime in on that. As for the knock sensors, you could install a second one or splice the second set of wires into the first sensor as well (three guesses which route is better and the first two don't count ;)).

yo rob, wats good this is ron. If your going to turbo the 7mge, my best advice would be to use the gte electronics. that means gte wireharness, ecu, cps sensor, turbo afm, coilpack, ignitor, etc. Dont be cheap and use the ge electronics cause it will blow. I know that your new to the whole supra game and everything but search. Its a whole sticky on it here in the 7mge section on what is needed.

And you already know that im parting out all of my gte stuff and have most of the things you need to do the conversion so you need to get it while u still can. Need any help just shoot me an email. Enjoy your supra
