hey people

i got this original 1990 mz20 soarer gt

with the 7m gte

its blown on me twice, once with the motor i bought it with and then second with the same motor, but recon'd/ new mhg, arp head bolts, decked head/block ...

so yeaa.... im selling the thing. but ive noticed around here, ( brisbane, australia) the price of a 7m gte replacement unit would cost me about 1100-1300

heres a link to some pictures of it, but different if u haven't seen one.

i'll sell it $2200 ono, its gotta go guys

now, i haven't got the money to go do a ijz/2jz transplant, and frankly i dont wanna. the 7m runs nicely, but has the tendency to just blow gaskets.

would be possible to get one of those import replacements, torque the bastard. and hope or the best? or should i just sell it, and save myself a migrain.

I'm confused, are you trying to sell your motor to buy a new one? How low of an RA value was the head and block decked to? Did you drop the oil pan to remove coolant from the pan, water kills bearings..quick. What did you torque the ARP head bolts to? Did you re-torque them after a few heat cycles?

Please use the search and find more information on your motor...it should not have blown a metal head gasket if it was properlly installed.

IMHO rebuild it the correct way, you'll be fine and save a lot of money.

P.S. Your link doesn't work :icon_conf

Hi there.

Your country smells, but not as much as your city. :)

I'm sorry I can't help specifically with your question - but there a heaps on people on here who definately can. I'd have thought it would be ok once reconditioned with head / block machine work done properly.

However, what I really wanted to ask - where did you find these replacement engines? Most I have found are down south.

Good luck in any case. You may also like to check out supraforums.com.au for local hookups / advice if you haven't already.
