I have some dunlop5000 245's on sawblades and my 88 5spd pulls hard from 2.8K to 6.4k+ (stock ct26, with light mods... 8-9 psi)

The thing is that if i shift it @ 4k-5k from 1st to 2ed the tires squeal but if I shift it @ 5k+ they almost don't squeal at all and the turbo seams to die out a bit.

Could it just be that i need a bigger blow off vale?

OR that @ ~4.5k its going slow enough and makes enough torque at low rpm's to squeal the tires But at the same time it seams the turbos doesn't loose a step.

SOOOO... what i'm saying is will a blow off vale help me alot right now.

The tire chirp is more a result of how you are shifting than the blow off valve

what are your upgrades? without a decent exhaust system, the engine doesnt breathe too well in the upper rpm's and tends to drop off a bit as far as tq and hp... May i ask why you feel the need to slam gears and burn tires? grip makes for a faster car than spinning wheels.

it's pretty normal it seems...

but I'll tell you what, went from normal gear oil, to royal purple max gear (helped a little), to royal purple syncromax (don't bitch, I grabbed the wrong stuff...made it REALLY bad), to Red Line MT90... the MT90 in two days has gotten the grinding down to almost nothing. I HIGHLY recommend it...

Yeah.. i know the stock system is restrictive, only about 10psi max (i have it @ 8-9psi).

I was just saying would a BOV be useful before i make myself a 3" exhaust, FYI an extra one that goes to the same return hose as the stock BOV.

Mods:

No resonator (not my thing, but it had it removed before i got it)

2 1/4 inch upper IC pipe Witch i think helped my car get about 1/4 more psi (i just replace the curved plastic peace with a straight steel peace)

And of course a replacement K&N filter.

Money > then anything LOLOLOL

Sorry i didn't say I'm on a really tight budget

BOV would cost me about 80bux where the exhaust 250 for the 3" dp and another 250-300 for the cat back. And i have 100 bux in my pocket :)

power costs money. Dont waste the money on an 80 dollar bov anyway, its probably shit.
$80 on a BOV= a cool sound until it starts to leak (probably wont take long)
$500 to $1000 on a 3" turbo back = huge improvements over stock.

Put that 100 in your piggy bank, and add 100 every week until you have enough for the right mods... Then you'll be happy

dont mean to flame you or anything, but it sounds like you're stepping beyond your grounds modding this car. In my opinion you should spend some time on here researching build threads so you can get the most out of your car instead of wasting your money on crap and learning the hard way.

Sorry but I'm with Ryan 100% on this the Mk3 is the exact WRONG car to try and mod on a tight budget as it can easily make enough power with simple mods to destroy itself :(
