7m getting AEM, 7m tuner needed?

So I got my car dynoed yesterday to see where I'm at before I put in my AEM. The shop owner said he had never really worked on a 7m (also said mine was the nicest sounding/running he had seen :) )
however when I was leaving he asked if I was trying to go further with the car and I mentioned the standalone I have and the future turbo plans and he started talking about how good he is with the aem (his 3000gt vr4 is twin turboed and supercharged 800hp with an AEM yes it's redundant but the dyno graph looks insane)

my question is does anyone else think I would be a bad idea to let someone unfamiliar with a 7m tune one? I don't doubt his tuning skills a bit, his reputation and experience speak enough, but shouldn't the tuner know the motor?

I havnt seen the car in person but he has some magazine articles on it and the dyno graph. I didn't really mean redundant as in "a dumb idea" more as it's not really needed in an all wheel drive 800hp car. Although the graph shows something like 580hp at like 2800rpms if I recall right, sounds fun lol. I don't think he's blowing smoke about it.

But again, does being a good aem tuner mean you can tune any motor?

Yea it just seemed strange that when I talked about working on it he said they were electrical nightmares and that no one had ever brought him one in any decent running condition. But when it came to talking about tuning one he sounds confident.

I'm not really sure what to warn him about though as I have no idea about tuning. All I could tell him is to stay far away from any detonation but I would assume that's a given with any motor. Should I direct him towards the aem tuning thread lol?
