This is for people that have driven or have owned one of these turbo's.

I just got a used 60-1 with no shaft play for $150. I put it in and the thing doesnt even bother to attempt to spool until like 3.5k-4k rpm is it supposed to be like this lol..

not sure on the specs haha, all i know is its a 60-1 i dont think its clipped, im running 12lbs~ and im hitting that at around 3500-4k rpm. If it was a stock exhaust wheel i wouldnt think that would be normal would it?

it was off of Jaguar's old white supra, if anyone knows who he is :)

hmm i wonder if ive got a boost leak.. i really need to get me a full set of t-bolt clamps :(

on my old stock ct26 (that was going out) i wouldnt hit full 12lbs till about 2.5k-3k so i figured bigger wheel more lag..

i had full boost to 15psi by 3k rpm...i would be into boost around 2k..... id look into it....

Ditto. It shouldnt lag that much unless its clipped A LOT. Mine is clipped 10 degrees and it spools just like Ideal jus described, maybe like 2-300 RPMs later. Youre laggin too much. Check it out.

lol there obviously has to be some sort of benefit or else they wouldnt offer it, or at least no one would buy it..

Technically, rakkasan has it covered. The thing is, a CT-26 with an upgraded compressor wheel and stock hot side is capable of more power than I care to have... and clipping the hot side gives you more power potential at the cost of lower RPM spool.

So why would I want to give up spool times for power potential that I don't plan to use?

ah i see, yah well the MAJOR lag was due to me forgetting to tighten down the 2 bolts on the right hand side of the turbo > exhaust manifold (as your looking at the manifold) and they fell off. Problem is i cant get new ones on there now, i dont remember how i did it before.

The friggin water lines are in the way of the top bolt and i cant find anything to thread down all the way into the bottom right bolt hole.

Swiveling ratcheting wrenches are your friend.
been their tried that i cant get the swivelling ratchet wrench in there with the nut on the wrench because the clamp thing that goes around the exhaust housing is in the way. I cant get to it from the bottom and i can barely get one hand in there..

oh no i dont have a heatshield on my car anymore. Im talking about the 4 bolts that mount the turbo to the exh manifold. There are two on the left and two on the right.

The circular clamp ring that holds the exh housing for the turbo to the center housing is in the way of the right upper stud and the coolant lines are in the way as well. Ill have to take some pics lol..

anyways i have just enough room to get my finger and thumb in there but i cant get the nut to thread on the stud ive dropped that friggin nut like 20 times..

Oh, that part is easy too.

Grab a big magnet, and stroke the nut along the magnet several times. This will temporarily magnetize the nut. Then slide it in there and it will stick to the bolt.
you are a friggin GENIUS! how come i never thought of that! i shall update when this is done!
