I think it kind of defeats the purpose you will just starve the 550's (Maybe, not an expert). You can safely do the otherway round however.

if you are running stock boost it is fine..... I've run up to 15psi on a v6 camry fuel pump with my lex/550 setup....and it still is working great. wideband says its just right at 15psi

I ran the 550s w/o the Walbro and I was running real rich. Everytime I got on the gas... POOF... black smoke. Changed when I put the Lex AFM on there. :biglaugh:

I am going to say yes, as long as you dont go over ~10psi. I just would hate to see you jack up your new motor......... Pumps are so easy to change.

Are They that easy to change? since I'm doing everything else, and have next to nothing in the tank I was thinking of doing it.

yes, they are extremely easy to change. From the time I dropped the gas tank, I was able to install the walbro and the fuel filter and have the tank back in the car within, about an hr-hr and a half. That was my first time even trying to drop the tank in the car, or hell any car for that matter. Besides its money well spent!

NO You cant trust a 15 year old pump. Yes you can if the pump never fails. Your choice, but my car failed because my old tired fuel pump gave up under no boost and leaned out and detonated a piston. Why let 85.00 ruin your day! I told ya this pon supra forums. You have been WARNED!

So I'll put in a new pump as well (hehehe i said pump)
The stock injectors can handle this right?
Can the stock Afm keep up?
How about the stock FPR?
There's a non-Walbro 255 lph pump on E-(suckingmywalletdry)Bay, Has anyone seen/heard of/know anything about this pump? $30 cheaper, which means I can fill my gas tank up to a 1/4.

Spend the extra $100 to buy a Walbro for your 550 setup. Geez..

I know it's not the same thing, but what good is buying a 1" diameter hose to flow more water if you put the old 1/2" diameter filter in the middle?

if you get a walbro and keep an otherwise stock setup, drill out the j-tube.

after putting in a walbro, 550 injectors and a lex afm, is there a very noticable difference in gas mileage under normal driving/ boost?

I'm not sure, but with most Supras, if you drive like a normal human being, gas mileage does not get worse; it's that "fun factor" - we know it's there, and we want the BOOST! This causes lead foot [common disease in Supra owners which is not easily cureable, mostly due to the disease causing an acute chemical imbalance in the brain of the infected, causing severe addiction] which in turn destroys gas mileage.

Seriously, there are MkIV guys with 700hp daily drivers who get about the same gas mileage as when they were stock. Then again, they aren't stomping the gas to work, and they probably have their A/F tuned quite well for their driving style.
