550 cc injector soldering project

Can any one point me in the direction of the thread or simply answer this question:

Can the wires be "mixed" up on each individual injector plug. Im worried that one is "+" and the other "-" etc etc etc.

Any help?

I know that each set of wires has to go back to its injector. #1 set of wires goes to #1 injector.

Well; I'll tell you what i did. I didn't match anything up at all. I just soldered each set to the new set and so on. IE: injector wires 1 hook up to new injector wires. They don't matter.

Whatever you do, make sure and use flux when you solder 'em, then clean the flux off with alcohol and an acid brush when you are done.
Keeps oxygen from combining with the metals when you solder. This prevents any corrosion in this area, which would be a very important area.

and i believe our injectors fire in a series of two at a time... well, at least thats what it looks like upon viewing the wiring schematics in the TSRM.

so, it looks like you could even mix up injector wires 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6 between each pair and still have it fire correctly....

someone please correct me if i'm wrong!

LOL Shaeff half agreeing as they need to be wired in sequence you can't just wire em in any combination.

oh i know that, i was implying that you could use the

#2 injector wires for injector #1

injector #3 wires for injector #4

and injector #5 wires for injector #6.

does that make sense? its 4:40am here, im tired, and its about bedtime, but i gotsta know!

yeah im half agreeing with you also..

as they do fire in pairs...its not 1/2 3/4 etc... they are mated with each specifically...

as for wiring..the sequence cant be messed up... but im pretty sure it doesnt matter which wire goes on which side of the connector...i would just do it up like it is stock..hold the injector as if it was in the rail..match up the clip...and get to soldering in the position the clip is etc....

Going from the info supplied with my standalone I have 1 and 6 together then 2 and 5 then 3 and 4.

that was the jist of my theory, but Ideal has corrected me. i thought they fired 1/2 , 3/4 , and 5/6. i get it now. hmm. kindof makes me wonder how i got all my injectors wired correctly when i did my swap. my harness is pretty haggard, and i just guessed. the car always ran well though...

Well this answers my question too....i guess i couldn't have wired them up wrong! sorry dont mean to highjack!

I just visualized them up as to the relative position of the injectors and how the clips should go, soldered then shrink wrapped them, I don't think making sure they matched up added that much more time to the process. I like my striped and solid wires all matched to their respective color, but thats just personal preference.
