I borrowed a set of 680cc injectors from a new found 1JZ friend yesterday & dropped them in last night. This morning he & I ran down to Abbeville to a hole in the wall dyno that he knew of (they deal mostly with domestics) & threw my car on the dyno. Add in 4 gallons of race fuel, play with the cams & fuel & turn the boost up to 26.2psi & I hit 527whp & 390lb/trq :icon_bigg . The ride home was fun, this was the first time when everthing felt 'right' since I bought the car. :biglaugh:

That's what happens when you have a small displacement engine and it's turbo charged...:D

Not necessarily. A 1J is very capable of making 500hp/500tq or very close to it.

We're not talking about 4cyl Hondas.

Good numbers, Mark. :)

What turbo, mods, boost?

62mm 60-1 w/ .58 backside, Tial BOV & WG, Sard 680 injectors (not mine, borrowed, but needed), Aeromotive AFPR, 2J cams w/ HKS cam gears, 3" stainless exhaust w/ Vibriant Ultra resonator & Magnaflow muffler, Stinger ECU, Greddy E-01 boost controller, 24x12x4" intercooler, Earls oil cooler. I'm sure there's a few others that don't come to mind.

The boost was set at 25lbs, but it creeped up to 25.7lbs. For the second run, the boost was set at 26lbs, it creeped to 26.4lbs, but it made 7 less whp. I assumed that it was due to heat soak....

Nice work Mark!!!

Thanks Aaron, many times over. I owe you a lot! Speaking of, I'm still in the market for a top feed fuel system.

Also, what is the ballpark for the cold start fuel setting? Mine is set at +45%, way too much, so I'm figuring about 20%. I set my cold run in the same range we spoke about & it's starting to purr. :naughty:

Nice numbers. How do you feel your Stinger ecu holds up?

I'm finally getting it dialed in, the first tune I had was way too rich across the board. I had to drive to Atlanta a 2nd time to get it straightened out. Because the car was warm when getting there, my cold tune settings couldn't be set, so I had huge problems with fouling out the plugs. I talked to Aaron & he got most of it straight. All I have to do is get my cold start fuel worked out & I'm golden.

It's one of the best mods I've done, hands down. I picked up almost 70whp with it & 2jz cams. Now that it's starting to get set up correctly, it runs far better than stock. I definitely recommend it to any 1jz owner, especially given the market cost of blitz & sard ECU's.
