5 Speed Swap

I'll be buying a supra that has everything I want

Targa
Turbo
Felpro HG
ARP studs
TEMS
No Rust

the only thing wrong is the lack of a 5 speed transmission

I think it is pretty straight forward to swap, but haven't found much info through searching

I will be swapping the auto for a w58 and have an entire parts car to work with (only thing I will need is the ecu)

anything that might make it a little difficult? Any tips to make it go smoother?

how easy is it to drop the tranny and not the engine?

Thanks

You should try getting a R154 if you can so it can handle more HP if you plan on upgrading. You actually do not need to swap the ECU for the car to run properly. To help drop the tranny get a few long extensions so you can get the top 2 bolts. Also loosen the engine mounts to allow the tranny to sag down a bit which will make everything easier.

I would go r154 but pretty much the only upgrade the car might see is a 57 trim ct26, the rest of my cash will be spent on brining the car up maintenance wise.

Will do a new, better clutch for the w58 though

Thanks for the tips
