5-M Lower Radiator Pipe Question

So after reading some posts i went to Napa and got the 5-M lower Rad hose (7777). However i cannot seem to get it to fit acceptably. When i attempt to install it one way it rubs the PS pulley and when i flip it to install the other way it gets a kink at the top feed neck. Anyone know what i should do or what i am doing wrong? Also i reread the post and saw that IJ said he uses the 7MGE hose but the TSRM list both the 7MGE and 7MGET as using lower rad hose 16572. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What engine are you trying to stick a 5m hose on? It might work, but I've found a lot of these need a bit of trimming or custom fitting...

te72 i was trying to put it on my 7M. I read about doing it here http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?122379-lower-radiator-hose-options . However, i ran into fitment and kinking issues as already stated. My lower rad hose seemed to be leaking and i thought why not swap this the same time i did the IC piping. However, after getting frustrated with the 5-M hose i reinstalled the stocker as the leaking was coming from a worn hose clamp at the radiator. It did look like it would clear out some area for the IC piping though so i am still curious what people did or what i was doing wrong.

I didn't know the lower hose would be a swappable part, but that makes enough sense I suppose. The question is, why not just use the 7m one?

the 7m wraps back around makes a big 180 turn, the 5m one basically goes straight down and turns to the rad, i use a 5m one fits fine.

You need to cut about an inch off the top side. Maybe thats why it kinks, its a bit too long.

Isn't that to clear that power steering on the 7m? If I remember correctly, the 5m has only 3 accessories (AC, PS, Alt.), and the bottom left side of the motor (when looking from the front of the car) is mostly open... I could be wrong, been forever and a day since I worked on an M...

I am not really sure i just know i was apparently routing it wrong as i kept kinking the top of it or rubbing the pulleys. It is sizeable straiter and shorter then the stocker though.
