410 vs 373

i have a 1ggte supra that was originally an na it still has the automatic rear end that came in it with the 410 posi it seems a little low geared like i need another gear when im on the interstate so my bro. has a 91 turbo 5spd rear end 373 which is better my 410 auto or the 373 5spd i think with the 410 i have better low end speed but with the 373 ill have better top end which is better and is there a happy medium?:1zhelp:

87-88 Turbos have 3.91:1
89-92 Turbos have 3.73:1

You should have 4.30:1 right now. I think 3.91:1 or 4.10:1 would be the happy medium you are looking for.

jeff, do you know if the 89 year was split with diffs like they did motor mounts, crank and all those other pre or post 89 traits?

like is it common for an early 89 (like mine) that originally had square mounts and a 6M crank 7M to also have a 3.91 diff?

My car was converted to 5speed and was a turbo model , just curios.

Nope, all 89's should have the 3.73 diff.

Automatics and Manuals had the same diffs.

Depends on what you want. Better for drag is 4.10 happy medium. 3.9

87 n/a if its the LSD not the OPEN would be better if you want it for quater mile. Make sure its from an n/a with the sports package. Only a few of us get so lucky.

Thats open diff you better start lookin for a LSD that would mean any Turbo supra or a n/a supra sport package.

Its a Turbo model, therefore it is a LSD. According to Jeff its a 3.73:1 ratio.
