ok just droped my 7mgte in my 87 supra took it for a drive turbo spools. in 3rd gear at 1200 rpm il go wide open but the car wont do anything. could i have a boost leak or could timeing b way off ideals fine. throttle response is not wat it should b im sooooo confused please help me... srry this ? isnt wat it should b im at work uhaul sux

What do you mean by "not do anything"? Does the engine just stay at 1200 rpms? Does it die? Does the car just accelerate slower than you expected?

I find my third gear doesn't have the pulling feel of second at lower rpms. Actually I feel like my car isn't pulling very hard at all anytime... and I'm pretty sure it's running well and I have no boost leaks. I guess a high 3000 lb car and a mid-200 hp 3 liter just doesn't feel that fast.

1200RPM in 3rd? wtf? you expect it to just rocket away or something?

go drive the car, shift out of first at 4k... full throttle 2nd and shift as 5500-6000 shift to 3rd... and then do full throttle again... then come back and says how it feels.
and remember, turbos arent instant... they have 'spool up'...

Depending on mods, you're way outta your torque range at that low RPM...

Mine will pull smoothly from that RPM with my mods, gotta wait till around 3K to get the turbo really cooking though.

3rd gear is THE Supra gear and where the car pulls like a mad...

For some reason my third gear doesn't feel like it pulls very hard at all. Everyone else says theirs is da bomb shizzle but oddly enough I'm most impressed with how easily I can accelerate on the highway to pass people staying in 5th gear. Maybe I need to run third to redline sometime =D

IJ u and your spelling fetishes lol always having us feeling dumb just cus we misspell its ok we still like ya(we really just use ur knowledgenaughty:) jk but like they asked what does it do at 1200 rpms you said "it doesnt do anything" that isnt enough right now a brief description would be helpful doe the motor just stall or does it accelrate above 1200...or does the turbo stop spooling we need the info:1zhelp:

I guess I don't understand why everything being typed on here can't be correct? When you want " help " with something I personally think it is a pretty damn good idea to spell correctly, not just because it's the correct thing to do, it's because WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO READ what you want us to help you with..
