recap: last time we raced he was a stock basic integra gs he wanted to run so we did and i probably had 3 cars on him by the time we hit 40mph.
well after that he met a mechanic that does engine work and told him he could build up his engine to the max for a few grand so he agreed
redid the whole engine b16 head, pistons, shaved head and according to the mechanic "300 psi compression" fuel management system headers huge 3.5 inch itnake going to front bumper for cold air. the point is he spent $3000 building this engien and getting it tuned and i got to drive it and good god that thing hhas bawls considering its like 220hp in a 2500 lb car.
so he comes back "wanna race" so i agree and of course im wondering if i can pull on it cus of his power to weight ratio. so we go into the mt's where we line up and go
run 1: i had 28 psi of air in rear tires for grip, no spare, half tank and brake boosted to 1900 rpms and just launched immediatly jumped a car ahead and was a good 10 cars ahead by 90mph , we finish
then i hear him say "i missed 3rd"
so ok again
run 2: we get on the line and he revs it up and we go i launch again this time he got his launch ok and he stays even then he shifts and its over. i pull 5 cars on it by the time i'm at 100mph
we pull over and i look at him and go wtf dude
then he complains that he cant rev past 6k without the engine hitting rev limiter so i figure his maxed out his injectors or blew out his cat or somthin.
so now i wait to see if that was all his car could muster.
he's having his mechanic look at it again and see what tunning needs to be done and how bad it was running last night but i hope theres improvement
point of the story $5k integra + $3k built b16 engine cant pull on a auto 7m with dp.
i hoped for more from him but this proves theres no point in investing a cent in a honda.
