3 piece spoiler installation

Ok... how the heck do i install it????

I know i have to drill holes but how does it stay down? I have no clue how to attach it to the fenders and hatch????

Please help!!!! I want to put it on but I have no clue how the screws and the blue thingys go. Anyone have a thread or link to where I can get the instructions???

I've seen stock holes. The end ones are square and the plastic bit goes in first and the screw screws in and expands the plastic like a plastic wall anchor does.

Putting one of those on is a Royal pain in the ASS!!!:aigo: There are a bunch of plastic anchor screw holders on each corner. The hardest part is getting it lined up correctly, cause' you can't set it down on your paint because of the pointy things sticking down out of the end caps.:icon_mad: A un-knowing body shop guy did the one on my old 87, painted it too, for $125.00. He informed me that it was, and would be his one and only! as it took him 6.5 hrs to do!:biglaugh:
I think if your'e patient, and measure everything thing out beforehand, you should be okay though. Just look in the TSRM, to make sure you have all the necessary pieces before you start.:icon_bigg

:runaway: :nono: Tried the TSRM nothing in it about the spoiler installation. I am having problems with the plastic anchors. I have no clue how the go in. I wish I had pics and I can go from there. I also havent a clue about the center piece...:3d_frown:

I guess i will be driving my sup with the holes drilled....:cry:

You're right! My bad. Go to a dealership, have them pull up the exploded view of the spoiler, then print it out for you. It will pretty much show how all the pieces go on. You should have both blue, and white screw anchor clips, along with a couple of grommets, and the 5 (I think) gaskets.

i dont have all the pieces or the screws.... the person who shipped it to me did not seal the bags when he shipped it to me.:3d_frown:

middle piece is easy, just line it up on top and mark it. for the side pieces find a car with one, take one side off and make a template with a piece of paper. took me about 3-4 hours to drill and fill all the holes so it fit snug.

I actually went to a auto parts store and found very similar plugs to the factory toyota side plugs. I took in one side spoiler piece and just started looking at choices and what fit. I hated that the factory plug had to have a perfect hole to fit in properly. The plugs I bought just pushed into really any size smaller hole and helf the spoiler fine. I did measure everything out as well. First mount the rear deck part of the spoiler. I sat the spoiler on the deck and when it looked good circled the spoiler bolts witha thin marker. Then driller holes!!! Mine had the light so I had to drill a hole for power source. then just match up the sides!!! once set right I marked the side post holes with a marker and then drilled. Used my fancy Napa plugs and then set in the side pieces. they screw it at the back so I used some small lag like screws and called it good. Its very easy just take your time and all will be good................

Thanks! Hmmm no napa around me, just auto zone. I will try them then work my way to other auto parts.

BTW --- anyone have pics of all the pieces(screws and such) I need for the install?
