2jz stock twins on a 1jz?

Hey I was just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to bolt up the stock 2jz twins in place of the stock 1jz twins? Are they the same size? Ive read somewhere that the 2jz turbo manifold is bigger but is it just the manifold or turbos or both? If anyone can tell me that this swapping of turbos is possible it would be greatly appreciated.

IIrc neither the turbos nor manifold are interchangeable

They aren't really the same at all. The US MK4 ones are completely different, and I think the Aristo ones are the closest, they have the same flange, but still require some fabrication to work.

you can make them work however. i read a post on here or on sF that someone welded them on or something.

I had 2JZ twins on my 1J prior to the single setup and it is a totally custom setup. I was using two front USDM turbos with the rear one having the WG arm cut and re-welded. To make them fit on the 1JZ manifolds is easy, just have to drill a hole in the turbo flange for one of the studs on the 1J mani. But a custom Y-pipe and D/P depending on how you make your Y-pipe will be required. You also need all of the piping for the 2JZ twins.

That's all I can remember right now, it was a cool setup and would like to do it again on another car sometime. Really throws people off when you open the hood...

This can be done. My buddy did it. Search for 'Supraracer01' on SF. He's got a build thread. He did it w/ JDM twins, not USDM.
