2JZ Rev Limit on Stock Valve Train

What is the safest rev limit on a 2JZGTE with the stock valve train. I am looking at a Gforce ECU to raise the rev limit but the two I have located are at 8200 and 8500 rpm. I think this is too high and I could blow the engine if I hit a slick patch of pavement or something. I will be running HKS 264s but the valve springs and retainers are stock.

Chris you can float valves earlier than 8k depending on how much boost your running, but why not get some BC springs and retainers, they are fairly cheap. $330 and Powerhouseracing

I know of a couple 2JZs around here doing 8k with no problems on stock valvetrain. This is with <20psi boost though.

Maybe wiht stock cams, with hks cams I wouldnt go over 7200

Have you checked speedforsale? They are doing the g-force ecu upgrade now and charge a LOT less the then old people doing it. They can change it to whatever you want. www.speedforsale.com
