So my powersteering pump started leaking on my 1jz.. So i found that my only option for a 1jz powersteering pump was to send it to driftmotion and get it remanufactured and then send it back to me for like 130 bucks.. Thats not too bad but i didnt want the down time of not having the powersteering pump.. But i know that a lot of 1jz/2jz parts are interchangable.. I did some research and read in a few threads that the powersteering pumps are interchangable.. Since i work at a shop i called some of my vendors and found a reman 2jz powersteering pump for 80 bucks with the core and i could get it that day so i did that.. cheaper and no down time and it came with a lifetime warranty.. here is my trouble.. with the 2jz powersteering pump installed the pulley sticks out 1 rib farther than the rest of the pulleys.. wouldnt really be a problem but everyonce in a while it will pop a rib off of the harmonic balancer and the belt will be riding on the ridge of the harmonic balancer which i dont think is good or that safe.. Anyone got a 1jz with a 2jz p/s pump? same issue? remedies? I could use some advice from the supra family..
