can you use aftermarket 2jz or oem 2jz parts on the 1jz
for example spark plug cover ,adj cam

some parts are interchangeable, some are not. Cam gears are interchangeable. 2jz cams can be machined to fit the 1jz head (http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55085).

yeah, the covers are completely different.

The 2JZ one also covers the cam gears, where as the 1J has a separate cover for that. The 1JZ one also extends behind to cover the ISCV air pipe.
