Sorry in advance, i realize that this question has probably been answered a lot. I'm ordering my 2j vvti besides the wiring, is there anything special that i need for the install?

Thank you very much everyone for your help.

I searched "2jz parts list" and almost instantly got what you're looking for. I suggest you do the same, and click on the third thread down. Oh, and by the way,
SEARCH NEWB!

calm down jaguar. dont really need that attitude on the forum..

check out my thread mk3 bamf i have pretty much everything listed (from an 89 turbo automatic to 2jzgte manual)

vvti is going to be interesting thats for sure :) i actually wouldnt have minded a vvti... although the cost of someone to do my wiring is what would worry me hehe(i wouldnt even attempt to do that myself :p)

i'm actually going to get the automatic set up. and turn the manual transmission into the clutch-less manual, can't remember what you call it right now, later when i can afford to. and just run automatic for now.

is it just the 1JZ VVT-i or are both the 1J and 2J VVT-i built with really weak rods? i remember someone saying the 1J VVT-i could only take about 400 whp before con-rod failure

It's sequential, I have to run auto or sequential because I have Muscular Dystrophy and physically can't deal with a clutch.

Bamf: Look into the SupraStick V4 it's a programmable trans controller that lets you shift manually with paddle shifters or buttons.

I wired mine into the ect/pwr buttons.

Thanks man, Ill look in to that right now.

suprastick wont work with 2jz transmissions only 7m and 1jz unless you are wanting to use a 7m/1jz transmission on a 2jz? (you would have to wire the 2jz's ecu to think its in neutral all of the time)

I come from a land down under
I thought he was swapping the Jz into an Auto Mk3?

Keep the 7M trans and converter swap in a Jz bellhousing and he's good to go ;) (much less drama and expense than building his clutchless manual he wants and still has full manual control over the trans)

honestly im not exactly sure he wants to do lol!

the a340e from the 7m is the best way to go along with a suprastick. (you just have to wire the 2j to think its in neutral and use a throttle cable from transmission in place of where the cruise control hooks up to the throttle body) assuming you want to keep ABS and such (newer jz transmissions dont have the abs sensor on the tranny its on the rear wheels and used for traction control as well)

Tlo: Jz 340's have electronic line pressure control so no cable.

Bamf has a disability but would like a manual car and talked about building a clutchless manual (huge expensive job) I offered up the SSv4 as a low cost alternative.

My SSv4 has been brilliant :)
