2JZ - H20 Temperature gauge sender

What have you guys used to get the stock gauge working. I know it calls for the 7m sender, but I tried the one I have and it seems too big for the hole :icon_evil . Any suggestions. I want to keep stock h=gauge for now and startup purposes...

Thanks.

o..The 1 with 2 wires is the sensor for the ecu.. the single wire is the temp gauge one.

I'm pretty sure I used both aristo ones. I was going ot use my 1j ones as someone said the aristo gauge sensor read different. But the threads were different (different sizes like you said). I imagine the MKIV are the same thread, but I'm not sure.

The 2 wire sensor is used for the ECU to determine operating temp, and the single wire sensor is for the temp gauge, which is compatible with the A70 cluster. Just wire the existing sensor on the engine, and you're all good to go. Mine works great!

If teh 2-wire isn't hooked up, your ECU can't do temperature enrichments. If teh 1-wire isn't hooked up, your temp gauge doesn't work.

That's good to know that you say the 1-wire is compatible with the A70 cluster. I'll just hack off teh 1JZ end on my harness, and splice in the 2JZ connector so my gauge works again.

When I didn't have mine hooked up the car ran extremely lean, like fouled out plugs lean. And you definitely want it in the stock location too, had mine in the radiator for a while and car runs so much smoother with it in the waterneck.
