I searched, but all I really found was info about 2JZ-GTE's into turbos, 2JZ-GE's into turbos, or 2JZ-GE NA-T's into turbos, or using R154's or even autos. Nothing about an NA 2jz-ge, staying non-turbo into another non-turbo Supra.

I have a W58, and was wondering if I could just swap in a 2JZ-GE, (DD, i know it's only a 25hp boost in power, but my 7MGE has WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many miles on it to be fun/fast/reliable), and save an intake, exhaust or something of that sort, it'd remain stock...

Plus I don't have $3000 (or the know-how)to drop on an NA-T...

Anybody have any info on this swap? I want it as simple as possible.

I'd rather not go 1jz (not street legal) or 2jz-gte (way outta my budget)...

I know the 2JZ-GE has a distributor like my 7M-GE (compared to coil-packs for 7M-GTE's and VVTI 2JZ-GE's), would that work.? Injectors, can I use my 7MGE's, go custom, or do I use the 2JZ-GE injectors?

A/C is not important to me, but power-steering is. Also I'd like to keep it 5-speed, so would a 2JZ-GE W58 fit my 7MGE W58? I'm sure I'd have to swap bell housings, but would my tranny hold up?

I basically wanna take a 2JZ-GE to a shop and my MKIII supra and say "this is what you have to do to, please do it" or close to that, I don't want to have to wait 6 months, having my car sit at the shop, waiting for custom items to be made, or shit on back-order, stuff like that. Like I said I want it clean and simple. My mom and brother each have 2JZ-GE's in their cars, so my mechanic's also very familiar with them, compared to my 7MGE...

what do you guys recommend? Any input?

p.s., those wondering yes, I'll continue my search after posting this, I'm not going to just wait around for replies with my thumb up my ass..

p.p.s No 1jz fan boys, or suggestions to "just go 2JZ-GTE" or "sell the car and buy an SC300" or anything of that sort, thanks...

i honestly think that if you were to drop in another GE motor, it would be a waste of time and money. by the time you get the new motor fired up you've spent $3,000 or more. it would be best to rebuild the 7M. all the little things it takes to do the swap add up. and you're talking about taking it to a shop to do the swap, lot's of money right there. money that could be well spent other places. but it looks like the lexus gs300 motor has a mid sump oil pan, so that's good

I know, but at nearly 242,000 miles, my 7m's going to be pretty much done for soon, I just obliterated a timing belt (i was hoping it was the engine) two fridays ago, and got it back this past friday, and she's not the same, very slow and clunky. I know a 2JZ-GE is slow too, but my bro absolutely rapes me in his stock SC300 (on chrome 20's, no less), I don't need a damn dragster, just an engine that wont fall apart on me and blow gaskets left and right....

I've been considering getting a low mileage JDM one, but I dont wanna have to deal with HG bullshit every time something goes wrong...

I know 2JZ-GE's arent bullet proof, but the way my mom and bro drive, the worse they've had are leaky powersteering lines..

the 2JZ-GE should be a fairly easy swap, and doing the non turbo version I'm sure it can be done for less than $3k. I'm collecting the parts to do one now
and I I'm gonna start in late august.
