I am planning a new 2jz-mk3 E85 build and want some feedback. Here is my plan, let me know your thoughts please!
-Stock JDM 2jzgte (haven't decided on supplier yet)
-Replace cam seals, crank seals, valve cover gaskets, water pump, oil pan, bellhousing, etc. in accordance with all the great threads on this forum.
-Ebay T4 exhaust manifold (haven't decided on brand yet)
-HKS wastegate (already own, will upgrade to larger if necessary)
-6265 turbo or old-school PT63 turbo
-appropriate size injectors (don't know size yet)
-HKS VPC (already own)
-SAFC
-dual intank fuel pumps
-AFPR
-Tial BOV (already own)
-Horsepowerfreaks Bronze clutch with ACT pressure plate (already own)
The plan is to buy and install all of that and see what problems I encounter. After that is fully operational I'm thinking of switching to a standalone ECU and upgrading the cams. I'm holding back on the cams to keep costs down and holding back on the ECU to keep costs down and make it a little easier. But I don't have the right VPC chip nor a fields harness for the 2jz, so I'm thinking that I might have to go with a standalone instead of investing more money into the VPC that I'm not really interested in anyways. Thoughts?
The quickest Supra I've had was a 7M with a 61mm turbo and a 150hp shot. I'm looking for something faster and want a 2jz. I'd really like to go with the 6765 turbo but I'm afraid that I'll be killing transmissions or clutches. The car will be on drag radials 100% of the time. With it running on E85 I should be able to run it on high boost all the time.
This will not be a daily driver, think of it more as a weekend car.
