I just put a new turbo on my car and have the basic mods w/Lafm/550s front mount intercooler 3inch turboback...anyway my car ran mint before the install and now everything is hooked up right and the car idles like shit and stalls and runs way too rich above 4k and bogs runs strong in the midrange power though.. I have an APEX-i safc that is not yet installed could this cure my problem or does anyone have any idea what the problem could be thanks

Pull your EFI fuse and reset the ECU. Make sure all your intercooler hoses are clamped tight. Run the stock AFM electronics (I think the Lex electronics are the same though). I'm running about 30 psi on the FPR w/ vac line off on the same set-up.

What kind of fuel pressures are you seeing????

My guess is that the car is loading up with fuel as you still problee have the restrictor in the j tube.

Just a guess from a guy who's been doing this for 12 years or so....

You are up early. ^

The j-tube is bypassed/removed when you install the 255 LP/H pump, and not the bigger injectors, correct?

It is recommended that you remove/bypass the j-tube when doing anything with fuel; however I have been running lex/550's for approx. a year now with the j-tube and no problems at all.

I do have a walbro sitting here but just haven't had the patience to pull the stock one and install this one.

Before you dump the money into an AFPR I"d try and tune it with the SAFC and see if thats enough to lean you out. The J-Tube is in the engine bay, just follow the fuel return line down the block and you will see it.

The J-Tube is located on the driver's side, lower portion of the block, toward the front. Look down under the intake - you'll see it.

You can bypass it completely, and block off the plate using a normal Chevy fuel pump blockoff plate, available at Autozone or Advance Auto Parts.

The J-Tube serves as a restriction to allow you to keep enough fuel pressure to limp home in case the fuel pressure regulator fails.

To answer your question, yes.

Thanks I'll probably yank it then and get a regulator
