Are there any problems with installing a 255 fuel pump and not upgrading the fuel pressure regulator (using stock fpr)? Thanks in advance.:icon_bigg

Well if your going to put a new fuel pump in the car that litterally can flow TWICE the amount of fuel as the stock pump you might want to regulate that increased amount of fuel going into the fuel rail.

I will assume your stepping up to the 550CC injectors as well at this point, but if not let us know.

The word of advice is YES. Do it right the first time. Save up some money and buy a regulator. Either the $80 ebay ones will do or you can go all out (like me ) and buy the best one; Aeromotive. You do get what you pay for!

Either way, you need to regulate the pressure. You do not want to inadvertantly raise the duty cycle the 440CC stockers are running at and consequently run WAY to rich of a mixture and not know it. Honestly, you will probably notice it would be running rich at idle and most like ly would feel "slower and more sluggish" than before.

I would rather see you just upgrade the INJECTORS first, THEN the regulator THEN the fuel pump.

Your kind of going backwards on the tune up of your car.

Thanks for the advise. I may have a pump going out and don't want to replace it with an oe type pump because of future upgrade concerns. Not ready for the 550/lex upgrade yet(come on tax return) but I will change out the fpr when I do the pump this week.
