What do you guys set your boost at for your daily driving? Or should I say whats a safe/normal boost level to set it at for daily driving? I'm gunna look at a turbocharged supra this weekend and the guy says he keeps it at 12psi for daily driving. I know next to nothing about turbochargers but isnt this a little high?

Thanks

I run the same amount of boost all the time no matter what I am doing. If you have two boost levels you run at the higher build stages, you need multiple fuel maps to run. You don't HAVE to make boost all the time, so if you run a safe boost level, you'll be fine.

I see...One other question...The guy says he has a 7mgte engine (and r154trans), Greddy TD06H-20G Turbo system, 450cc injectors, 3" exhaust turbo-back, sc400 fuel pump, bla blah...He claims 450hp. Do you think all that stuff can create 450hp??

Mine is easily adjustable in cab but I usually have it set at 10psi with an upgraded ct.. Unless its raining and then I have a toggle valve switch that drops it down to 7.5lb actuator spring.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but since you all are talking about boost.....a recently purchased turbo and I haven't ever had a turbo either. I know the stock gauge is not very acurate but is the boost supposed to sit at -4 until you get into it or should it sit at around zero during idle and I need to look for a intake leak?

The answer may help masterchief also if he isn't aware of the correct function.

THanks,
Brian

it sits at -4 untill boost.. atleast mine does..lol

Your vacuum is really probably somewhere between 16 and 22ish. The stock one just only reads at 4. If your vacuum was actually at 4 then you have a significant leak somewhere.
