How the hell is it going to ruin your car?

Before the hack, I used to have a much higher post count at SF than SM, but I would make my threads here to ask questions;)

You need to enter the aspect ratio of the tire (you did not state that) to really know what the difference will be.
Nice rims you have there.

215 tires will not hold to the road as good as 225 wide ones. So panic braking will be affected. But every day driving will almost feel the same.
If it were me, I wouldn't ever go narrower on tires than stock.

Here is my personal input. My friend actually has the 215 in the rear and 225 in the front. (messed up setup he bought). Anyways, it is not noticeable at all. I mean youd have to be going fast to actually notice the more pronounced oversteer if at all.

aspect ratio??? hmm i havn't totaly figured out all this tire measurment stuff. I know that 225 and 215 measurses width of trie but that seems to be all i know. Also should look into what the size of the tires are in term of hieght. I will look into that too. sorry but this is first time buying tires and rims and im kinda of a newbie at it.

EDIT: I found the size they are 215/55/R16 I have no idea what the 55 and R16 mean though but thats the complete measurments of them.

From that link, when your speedo reads 60 you will be doing 60.1[61.1] -- no big deal at all.

225 would be the width in mm
50 would be the ratio of the sidewall in relationship to the width
16 is the rim height in inches

I have that exact setup on my car. I even drove it from Upstate NY to South Florida to Austin Texas and back to Upstate NY on 225/50/16 fronts and 215/55/16 rears: no problems. I never raced my car (only the bike) and so I only buy used tires for the car. Just so happened that the 215's were 10 bux each -- I could not resist and had them for 3 years like that. My car was bought as a vacation mobile first, used to tour cities; I never raced it or modded it. (I think of it as a beach cruiser.) If you have similar plans, it is 100% OK.

EDIT: typo
supposed to be 61.1 not 60.1

daily driver will not suffer any ill effects with that little of a difference. but as hp increases with supporting mods, then have checkbook handy. so when the smoke clears, you can write a check for the next set of tires.

what it basically comes down to is your regular driving habits and how often you respond to the calls of the big boys.

BTW nice wheels....
