Okay i have an 87 supra turbo targa 5 spd.(r154). My e-brake doesn't hold(1st question how/where is adjustment for our supras e-brake.) 2nd. Yesterday I parked my car on a slight incline, applied e-brake and put the tranny in gear, as I was steping out of the car it rolled back about a half wheel turn, and continued to do so every few seconds. I've never had this problem in any other manual transmission car. The clutch pedal does feel very light lately. (It is suppose to be a pretty new toyota replacement clutch) Anyway after it cooled down yesterday evening, I removed the inspection plate to find out that I couldn't see shit. I don't even know if this has to do with the clutch. Has anyone else ever had this problem in any car? I'm clueless, so enlighten me and sorry if this a stupid question.

Note: My clutch doesn't slip under hard acceleration (been boosting 12 PSI past week, met fuel cut the other day =[ )

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

off hand i don't know where the ebrake adjustment is. i've never had to mess with that yet. i'm just as stumped as you are about your car rolling back in gear with ebrake on. it would seem like you clutch is slipping, but it holds 12psi... hmm? hopefully someone on here has some insight/experience as to what is going on. sorry i couldn't be of any help.

I've never noticed it slipping at all. Haven't noticed it since my car started rolling in gear. Maybe i'm exceeding the stock clutch? Thanks anyway, hopefully someone will chime in and it will be something simple... Doubt it though :(

that is really weird... even if the ebrake dosent work the car should not roll with it in gear... i believe IJ told me in a thread awhile back to go on the freeway get into 5th gear at a really low rpm and floor it if you see your rpm move up but not your speed then its your clutch

Yea, see I haven't seen it slip at all while driving, under hard acceleration. No spike in rpm's, it engages/disengages fine too.

go in 5th at low rpm... around 2k rpm... push in the clutch and rev the engine to about 4k rpm or higher then quickly drop the clutch... if the revs drop right back down to 2k when you let go of the pedal then your good... im sure you can guess what would happen if your clutch slips... the rpms would fall slowly.

Interesting, my car does the same thing, with my w-58(im n/a). I was at my friends house in his steep drive way, i went ou to smoke a cigarrette and noticed my car at the end of the drive way. As i started walking towards it i heard it click and roll back about a quarter tire rotation. Ive never seen this before and i have done the clutch tricks, and it seems to gripping well only time it ever slips is when the clutch is cold, but once it warms up its fine. Also i i dont have an e-brake period, i need to get around to fixing that

Welp, NO SLIPPAGE, clueless, exactly a quarter wheel turn is all it will roll at one time, then will sit and do it again and again. Fuzz how close are you to frankfort?

If your E-brake is not working and your clutch is fine, and it only happens when in gear on an incline and it rolls just 1/4 tire rotation.
I would think that the compression of the engine is just not holding the car? I'd just adjust the e-brake and relax. You could do a compression check if your into that sort of thing, but this doesn't sound like a serious problem.
