im sure everyone has heard about putting a 1JZGTE into thier supra or something like that...i know it is possible because of the late Mike Urbano, but what does it take to put it in do you need new engine harnesses or what?

U really live up to your username ;)

Go to supraforums.com and start searching/reading threads. TONS of people have done 1jz swaps and have bundles of info about it.

Well that isn't going to do him any good if he isn't registered at Supraforums because they are not taking anybody new right now. MKIII NOOb let us know if you don’t have an account with Supraforms and I'll see what info and links I can pull up.

ok guys lay off the new guy we have all been there before.

mkiii noob:
ok heres what it takes to put in a 1jz u need a engine (a clip would be best) a bell housing(if u get a clip u it comes with it) wiring harness of both ur car and the 1jzgte and they have to be complete is preffered. map sensor for either a 1jz or a 2jzgte, ic, 1jz ecu, engine bracket for the 1jz,89+ sub frame,89+ engine mounts.

for the harness u can make it ur self or send it out so some one( normally big money and have to worry about if they did it right).

also the power steering lines need to made new if u dont want to have a hydro fan insted of a electrical on. other then that u need to know how to do the basic mechanical things. like taking out a engine and trouble shooting it if something goes wrong. their are no real manuals for the 1jz its prettty much ur on ur own but have ppl to help here. it really sounds kinda hard but it iis not. it can be done in a few weekends i did mines in a month wit only working on for about 16 hours a week. including harness. normally the harness will take more time then the swap. because u have to re check it to make sure it has good resistance and all.
