So I was originally planning on doing gt->gte swap but I just found out theres a place nearby that sells 1jz clips. So I might go for that. I dont know much about the 1jz..Is it better for horsepower than the 7mgte? What kind of mpg does it get (I'm guessing/hoping better than the 7mgte since its .5l smaller)? What hp does the turbo (theyre all twin turbo stock right?) engine get stock?

Think I should go 7mgte instead?

Any comments/input appreciated! Thanks

well I'm not gonna spoon feed you information. It's not that hard to find.

only thing i'll comment on is the mpg thing. Depends on how you drive the car. .5L isn't affecting much. It's still a turbo 6cyl engine.

If I drive the car lightly, the mileage will be good. If i beat on it(which i do 90% of the time) then the mileage goes to shit...

joe doesn't mean to be rude these threads just come up about three to four times a day people asking the same thing. If you just put 1jz vs. 7m in the search bar at the top of this page I promise you'll find like a thousand diferent posts asking the same think.

I'll shoot you some quick info though. the 1j revs more, the 7m has more torque, I don't think it really matters gas wise cuz noone keeps theirs stock. It's mostly personal preference. people live and die by the 7m and the 1j. So its all on what you want out of your car. I think the general idea is 7m=drag, 1j= autocross. hope this helps. just search next time on here, and supraforums.com (their is a ton of info on their as well).

LOL! Why bring up a honda motor here? .. I used to have a b16a2 in my old 94 Integra.. it felt good to rev it up to 9,300 .. but once you go inline6/turbo, you never go back =P

wouldn't it be easier to answer the guys question with your opinion and then point him in some direction where there is a bunch of other helpful info out there, rather than take turns taking jabs at the guy and make this thread even more useless.

Because nobody likes to help someone not willing to help themselves. Some of us are just sick of the same old posts over and over again. At any given time i can expect to log onto an A70 forum and see 3 im finally going to the darkside threads, 5 should i go 1j or stick 7m threads, at least 1 rediculous thread (how many cylinders does a 1j have), and once or twice a month the whats better 1j or 7m all out dogfight. I rarely post because a little research goes a long way. Its understandable for many questions since thats what forums are for but this particular thread is just beating a dead horse. rant over

On the gas milage I can say that my 7m with 550cc injectors and a big turbo still gets better gas milage then my stock 1jz. The 1jz makes power from 2.5l by flowing lots of air and fuel.

options are nice though. you can easily go 7m, 1jz or 2jz.

of course, anything is possible with $$$, but weve got a few nice cost effective options for making power in the mkiii supra.

Wow, that sucks lol. I was planning to actually keep the 1jz stock for a while after I get it since I'll probably not have much money after the swap. What kind of mileage do you get averag on your 1jz? I'm gunna miss my 29mpg highway from my 7mge :(
