Well,
As many of you know, my 1jz has crankwalked on me. I am still searching for that perfect 1j or 2j block to replace it, but thought I would check my other option.
How easy is it to get ahold of a bearing kit including thrust washers for the 1jz?
Thanks
Tyler

I got Clevites from Summit for mine :D, they are seperate sets though, so order the mains and thrust washers.

Good deal.

Another question, how would I check for damage on a crankwalked engine? Obviously the bearings, but what about the crank/pistons/rods etc...?
Thanks

haha. Hey Matt. Good looking out with that crank pulley from summit. Looks like I'll be ordering it when I get back from school in Germany.

Not to be a doomsday prophet, but you will most likely have to rebuild the entire engine. Usually, the crankshaft will rub on the main caps and throw metal throughout the engine. Your bearing are most likely gone.

Additionally, with the crank sliding back and forth, the rods were no longer perpendicular to the crank and piston bore so you probably have wear on the wristpins. Look at spending at least 1000 bucks to get it up and running again.

Were you using an upgraded clutch?

If I was in your situation I would get a 2jzGE block for 500 or less and put your 1j head on it.
