Yesterday out of the blue, while coming to a red light I let off the gas and while approaching the light it turned green. I placed my foot on the gas and the bucking began. The engine would return to normal rpms but I did notice my AFR's at rich levels (10's to be exact).

Since it isn't at idle, IACV I have ruled out but will check anyway..
Ignitor going bad??
Temp sensor being heat soaked??
O2 sensor??
ECU??
map sensor??

The CEL lights does come on but then disappears once the engine goes back to normal.

Anyone experience this issue with their 1JZ..

I did notice, the adjustment screw on my knock-off BOV, mysteriously disappeared and will be replaced immediately.

Crank sensor is new
TPS was replaced a few months ago (not in FSM specs) but doubt it would be the culprit.

Any suggestions/direction would be helpful.

I just had that problem, but it turns out that I was overboosting and I guess hitting fuel cut. I backed off the duty cycle on the turbos and the problem went away. Right before it did it though, it boosted really fast. Are you under much load when it happens, or low throttle?

totally forgot about this thread of mine..

FIX: Allowed the car to idle and then played with the wiring of the BCC, SAFC etc.. Turned out one of my wires for the BCC was loose and caused the bucking (BCC is related to the Map Sensor).. Since then, no bucking..

Lesson: Solder those connections.. ;)
