1jz wiring walkthrough???

Has anyone made a wiring walkthrough? I am about to start wiring mine up and i would really like to have a walkthrough for the 89 body. I have already exteneded the whole hardness.

I have searched, but i have not found something that is very indepth. I do have the 1j harness diagrams, i was just hoping someone has gone through and made it simpler. let me know, i am going to go and reinstall my drive shaft.

Be careful, if yours is an early 89 (square mounts), some of the wires will be slightly different. I've gone through and double checked my whole harness (extended it as well), but have yet to start the motor so I'm not 100% sure mine is done correctly. Just be sure to do it one wire at a time, a few of the connectors have multiple lines with the same color.

Its the expensive route but you could buy a conversion harness from 935motorsports.com . Granted it is $850 with shipping but there and again I bought it because I HATE screwing with wiring. If you want to do it yourself refer here:

these are a few links I have for when I was going to attempt the wiring myself. There should be enough there to give you a good start.

If you dont buy a clip you will need an igniter- can come from a 2jz or a 95^ avalon pt# 89621-22030
Map sensor either 1jz or 2jz pt #- 89420-24040 or 89421-12111

If you have a 7m intercooler i recommend going after market. The 7m has both flanges on one side versus the setup for the 1jz.

Motor mounts is an issue. If your car is 86.5-early you will need motor mount adapters or an 89-92 crossmember assembly.

Power steering.... you will need power steering hoses from a 2jz.
A 2jz throttle cable is recommened beacuse with the 7m you will have some slack.

Serpintine belt comes from a 2jz.

The tranny is a r-154 just with a 1jz bellhousing, if you need a clutch just use a 7mgte clutch but you need the 1jz flywheel.

There are some variances. Some ppl like to go with the hydrofan setup: refer to webpages for more info.

I think that is about what I have. I have done countless hours of homework on this so hopefully this helps you out or anyone else who may need help with a swap as well.

That is awesome being that i am partially color blind :) YAY!

Yeah, i would love to see these square mounts. The engine dropped fine, so i am pretty sure mine werent the square mounts, but it didnt look like the mounts were very round. just a tiny bit round.
