1jz valve cover gasket... will a 2jz or 7m work?

Hello,
I need to replace the valve cover gasket on my 1jz. I read that a 2jz gasket will work, but I also read that a 7m will work? So which one is it?

7m will not work on your life. the 2jz one is the more likely one that works.

No it's NOT a direct swap. The bolt holes are all off. I already tried this myself. The cover's slightly longer for teh 2JZ one too, as the first cam bearing cap is covered with the 2JZ cover, but not the 1JZ cover.

Whats up, call Champion Toyota Jeff Watson... go to SF for his #. I got an engine gasket kit for the 1J for 175 shipped. Came with all factory gaskets that are needed. Best investment so far
