I just finished a 1jz swap into a mk3. The car will start and run for about 5 secs and then stalls out. If i try to give it gas same thing just stalls. no codes. I looked at the ecu and didnt see anything burnt/melted but im still not ruling it out. I need to check fuel psi still but just wondering if anyone had this problem. Wiring was done by dr tweek so im pretty sure it isnt a wiring issue. Any help would be greatful.

Did you buy the RPM activated relay?
Did you try jumping FP to B+ ?

Not sure what either of those are. I had the fuel pump relay wired into the harness to control the fuel pump if thats what you mean. I put fresh gas in and it still does the same thing.

In this little thing, under the hood,

jump FP and +B
And see what happens.

Dr tweak did my wiring, and i had the same problem.

Update: I jumped the above pins and the car started and stayed running. Once I pulled the jumper out the car stalled. Does anyone know what is needed to fix this problem?

You need to fix your wiring for the fuel pump. Are you using a JZA70 harness and ECU or a chaser/soarer?

The JZA70 triggers the fuel pump relay by grounding the FP terminal coming out of the ECU. (I believe it grounds it, either that or 12v). The Soarer ECU outputs a 5v signal that was interpreted by the fuel pump ECU in the Soarer. That signal will not keep your fuel pump on. The circuit opening relay will trigger the fuel pump while you're cranking, which is why it would run for 5 seconds or so. You need to figure out how to get it the signal it needs once the car is running.

I dont know why the relay does not work. I tested all the inputs to the relay and found i had a switched 12v signal, RPM, and ground. I never saw the ground signal i needed on the signal wire to turn the pump on.

The relay looks like this,

That relay has a green wire that needs to be grounded to signal the fuel pump. For the time being I just cut the wire and wired it to ground through a switch. This switch also acts a somewhat of a anti-theft device.

The problem with this setup is the pump will run whenever the key is on. That means if you crash, and compromise the fuel system, your going to pump fuel all over the place. Definitely not ideal, but I cant find any information on the relay, and it is installed in a way that I cant check the contacts at the relay.

I have that same relay. I will look for the green wire today. Are there inertia switch's on these cars? If so maybe can just tap into that so incase of an accident the fuel will stop running. I also assume if you just run that green wire to a body ground it will always stay running with key on.

Ya. Fp will run with key on. Not really a big deal as long as you don't just chill with the key on engine off.

OK so I grounded the green wire and it would run but like I thought will run with key on. Is there anyway to wire it so it works like factory through the co/r?

The green wire you grounded was the signal for the co/r. And no, there is no output in the engine ECU that will signal the relay correctly. The 1j had a separate ecu to control the fuel pump.
