High, im helping another SF/SM member on a 1jz install to an 89 chassis with pre-89 motor mounts, I belevie he posts here as brewster.

-On the power steering hose when using the 2jz unit, how is the orientation? Does it attach to the bottom of the motor like stock 1jz unit or does it clamp to the frame like the 7m?

-When wiring in the new harness, must the intack track be removed or does this only make it eaiser?

-On the A/C compressor I was told you need to use the top of the 7m unit?

I am very new to the 1jz swap and havent had much time researching the subject, if anyone could provide some good resources on this swap it would be greatly appriciated.

Unbolt the 4 allen head bolts holding the top plate on the 1jz ac pump that the hoses bolt to. Swap it out for the 7m plate and put the 1jz ac pump back on the engine. You will notice when doing this that one bolt head for the frontmost hose on the pump will hit the PS braket. Mark where it hits the bracket and grind a notch so it clears. Then wire the clutch 12v input to where the stock 7m one used to go on the body harness. Leave the other 2 wires connected from the engine harness to the ac unit pressure switch. Just cut the wire going to the clutch itself, and route it to the body harness. Some of this stuff on the swap will just take some inginuity, it's not all plug and play if you want everything to work.

bigaaron,

Did you keep all of your swaps R12 or did you convert them to 134a? I am not sure how 134 will pull down in a Supra. I did a conversion in a Civic and it is terrible. However, the condensor on a Civic is much smaller than the one on the Supra.

Any pictures of the actual wires? wired up?
That would be awesome.
