I'm trying to get together a list of parts, and I want to make sure I have everything so I know what I'm looking at and can get a price range. This isn't quite a swap, as I intend to put it in a shell

Motor (duh lol)
Wiring harness
1jz ECU
Koyo Rad
PS Pump
PS Res
Hydrofan set up (all of it, I know where to find the complete list on here)
1jz flywheel and bellhousing
BIC motor mounts (pre 89)
Timing belt
Voltage meter to replace stock boost gauge
New boost gauge
2jz throttle cable
1jz tach
Oil Pressure gauge sender adapter
PS Hose and bolt
MAP Sensor
Thermostat
IC & Piping
Igniter (if your motor doesn't come with them)
Alternator (Lexus makes one thats 110 amp instead of 100, direct replacement, cheaper than Toyota, lifetime warranty, FTW)

Upgrades I want to do (but likely wont get to) before the engine goes in:
3" Y
MkIV 550s w/ Walbro (Don't forget if you use these injectors you have to wire in a resistor pack from the 7M. JDM 2j 440's are a drop in)
Manual boost controller
BOV
eManage or SAFC II

Am I forgetting anything?

I'm going to run the wires through the speedo cable hole so I don't need to extend my harness, but if they somehow end up too short I have wiring experience so that's a non-issue. If you guys have any brand recommendations , I'd appreciate it. I plan on getting everything but the engine itself from DM, and I may even get the engine from there, I haven't quite decided. Thanks to BobisEveryWhere and suprahero for the help.

I'm reading through Bob's now, it's 42 pages so it's gonna take a while. I checked the second link before I posted but oddly enough there isn't an actual list of things required, at least not that I saw. I'm tired, maybe I just missed it, but yeah. Thanks 89toy

The timing belt for an 88 Isuzu trooper will work for the 1jz.
With the MKIV injectors, you will have to wire in a resistor pack, but I'm sure you know that.
Most important though, Contact Aaron at www.driftmotion.com ..................:biglaugh:

Good Luck!!!

Thats exactly what you need, i am also in the process of doing the same exact thing.

I just ordered my BIC Mounts
I also ordered the following from Driftmotion

ACT Clutch setup
Koyo Rad
2J PS Line
Oil Pressure Gauge Adaptor line

What i will be ordering Tomorrow
2JZ Throttle Cable
88 Speedo cable because the current one is broken on the car.

With the above i've spent $1,300 with out the purcashe of the actual 1J yet :(

i dont understand why ppl dont just make their own throttle cables.... its far from rocket science and has got to be cheaper than buying an oem part.

just my .02:rant2:

the 7M throttle cable isn't long enough.

The 2JZ one is too long. You have to move the bracket to the last hole on the manifold, or turn it upside down, and just use one bolt to secure the bracket, or however you want to use it.

I paid $35 shipped for mine, cheaper than buying a custom kit. Yeah, it works, but it may not be silky smooth.

I'm going with a GReddy timing belt from DM. Do you guys have a recommendation on boost controllers, BOVs, and/or boost gauges? Jeff from MDC said the only thing they offer for the stock twins is porting the inlets for more air flow...and sticking a Mitsu tdo5-16g compressor wheel into each turbo along with a steel turbine wheel. This upgrade, for all due processes, is $1,500... I dunno if its worth it but I do wanna keep the original twins and just mod them up for a while... Let me know what y'all think

Edit: Thought I'd throw this out, HP goal around 280-300rwhp to begin with. Nothing to crazy but I"m gonna start building it up imediately after I get it running lol. No bills

I know how that goes, I just read Bob's entire build thread. I have an estimate of $3390, Accurate except shipping, I'm not 100% sure I guessed right but it should be close. For everything, including the shell. I don't see how people end up paying over 4k, I can get all my planned pre-insertion upgrades and still be under that
