1JZ Soarer into MA71

Posting for a friend that I am helping getting 1JZ Soarer (non-VVTI, twinturbo) with automatic transmission to Supra 1989 model with manual transmission. We have been using the "How to wire 1JZ onto MA71 89+" guide.


Which wires do we have to wire to get it to idle only? Just to test and hear the engine.

I think he wants to make sure the motor isn't fucked before he drops it into the car.

We got it to idle by connecting starter and the 4 fuel wires. Howoever, when we connected the wires as per the guide nothing happens, so we wired the wires directly onto 12v line and it worked. Anybody have any idea why it didnt work when wired correct as per the guide?
