Hey everyone, I noticed that my motor dumps quite a bit of smoke after full boost and I let it decelerate. Could my seals be out?

Edit: A more detailed explanation. When I hit full boost at WOT and hold it there, there is no smoke. About a couple of seconds after I get off the throttle, the smoke pours out. Its like a crazy smoke screen.

no, turbo seals. valve seals mainly leak at startup because they are cold, but once they get hot, they expand and seal better.

usually turbo seals do that on decelleration

I understand but if the turbo seals are leaking wouldn't they leak all the time?

Right on, I had a feeling it would be the turbo seals. To add on about the valve seals, if they were leaking, it would smoke every time I take off from a dead stop. Thats what happened with my old 5M. Thanks for the info.

Sounds like the valve stems. Unfortunately, if you are doing that you might as well go to a single turbo setup, as the twins will need to be taken off and put back on (head almost 95% of the time should come off, so you do not drop a valve down the block).

Why do the twins need to come off to replace them? Theres no reason for that pull the valve covers, the twins aren't in the way. And if you replace the seals the right way they will not drop into the cylinder with compressed are or just use the good old rope technique.

But to the top poster it sounds more like your turbos are slowly blowing there seals mine does the exact same thing.
